At Zillycakes, we understand that today people are looking to diet as a culprit for many illnesses and health issues.
Although we issue the disclaimer that everything made in our kitchen is processed on equipment that processes most major allergens, we are happy to provide the following options for those who are comfortable with the risk of cross-contamination:
1. Our vegan cupcakes and cakes and frostings have no animal products, so they are also great for people who are allergic to eggs and dairy. We always carry a vegan special flavor that changes every month, and we always have double chocolate vegan available for special ordered cupcakes or cakes.
2. Our gluten free cupcakes are also vegan. They contain no soy, no wheat, no eggs, no dairy, and no sugar (until you put icing on them!). They are sweetened with agave nectar, a sweetener that is lower on the glycemic index than sugar. Zilly fell in love with Babycake's recipe on a trip to NYC in 2010. We always have a yellow and a chocolate version available. Since we bake them in small batches, if you need more than 6, we request one to two weeks notice if possible.
3. If you are allergic to a specific substance, feel free to call us at 716-883-0365 and we'll let you know which cupcakes contain that ingredient. We want you to feel comfortable choosing something to eat at Zillycakes! We have even done our homework on all of our sprinkles and toppers. As a general rule, colored fine and coarse sugars are safe for both vegans and gluten-free customers!
